Jesus, the One Who Heals and Grows Us

The Bible says that we are in the world but not of the world. This is an interesting concept to explain to a four-year-old.

“Does this mean we are aliens?” I can hear the four-year-old asking.

“Well, yes, but we are not little green people.”

An alien is an individual who belongs to a different country. In this sense, we are aliens. We belong to the Kingdom of God, even though we live on earth. In our spirit, we are marked differently. Our love for others distinguishes us. Our giving hearts, kindness, and generosity draw others to our kingdom. We stand against the darkness of the world and win, in Jesus’ name.

We cannot express our kingdom nature apart from God. Our connection with God broke when Adam and Eve fell. But there is good news! Because Jesus came and died for us, we are healed, and the connection is restored. We can now be true ambassadors of the Kingdom.

Thank you Jesus for saving us.

But for you who revere my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its rays. And you will go out and frolic like well-fed calves. Then you will trample on the wicked; they will be ashes under the soles of your feet on the day when I act,” says the Lord Almighty.

Prayer: Thank you, Lord Jesus, for your great gift of salvation. Thank you for the healing and strength that allows us to conquer in this world. We are privileged to be in your kingdom. Be glorified always. Amen.
