He sent out his word and healed them;
He rescued them from the grave.
Psalm 107:20, NIV
God’s capacity is infinite, and His love has no limits. In His great love, He sends His Word to heal and rescue us from destruction, as Psalm 107:20 says.

How love contributes to healing the body
Doctors have an amazing capacity to guide us back to health. The miracles of modern medicine have made once incurable, rampant diseases (like Leprosy) virtually unheard of in most parts of the world. Hippocrates, the famous Greek physician to whom modern medicine is often credited, saw the link between love and healing. He once said,
“Wherever the art of medicine is loved, there is also a love of humanity”.
Most doctors have deep compassion for their patients. They want to see them healed and back to their best health.
Because God loves us, He heals our bodies. Sometimes He uses doctors and modern medicine. Other times, He directly performs a miracle. His great love paves the way to heal our bodies.
Reflection questions: Is there a time God healed your body? Looking back on that moment now, do you see God’s love at work in that moment? Take a few moments to write your thoughts down.
How love contributes to healing our minds
God’s Word also heals our minds. Immersing ourselves in God’s word changes how we think and the decisions we make. Because God loves us, He renews our minds as we read the Bible. Our thoughts and views start to change.
Slowly but surely, we start to understand God’s way and view. We see ourselves as He sees us. He shows us where we are wrong and brings us back into right living.
In time, we start to operate from a place of wholeness, not dysfunction.
Reflection questions: In there area of your life where you sense brokenness or weariness? How might immersing yourself in God’s Word bring healing and renewal? Take a few moments to write your thoughts down.
When we spend time with God, reading His word and talking to Him. We start to experience His healing love. May we prioritize spending time with Him today.
Prayer
Father God, I thank you for your healing love. You are truly Jehovah Rapha, my healer. You see all my hurting places and wounds that need healing. Today Lord, I commit every broken thing in my life to you. Heal me from the inside out.
In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
