A little girl once asked her father, “Why do you love me?”
Without skipping a beat he replied, “Because I made you!”
This father knew something our heavenly father whispers every day. God does not love us because of anything we are or do. He loves us because He made us. Rest in that assurance today. Read Psalm 143:8 slowly. Let it remind you that God’s love for you cannot fail. He loves you boundlessly and without measure. When you feel uncertain, unworthy, or alone, remember this truth: He loves you because you are His. Not because you got it all right today.
Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love,
For I have put my trust in you.
Show me the way I should go,
For to you I entrust my life.
Psalm 143:8, NIV
You can trust God because all His plans for you are good. He will show you the path to take for your life.
Journaling question: Is there something in your life that helps you to experience God’s unfailing love? Think about that thing. Write it down and place it where you will see it today. Every time you notice it, whisper a prayer of thanks to God.
Prayer: Lord I thank you today for making me. You love me because I belong to you. Not because of what I do or do not do. Let the truth of your word sink deeply into my soul. In Jesus’ name I pray,
